FIRST AID FOR UNPAID CARERS

The St John Ambulance carers support programme will give unpaid carers, caring for a relative, friend or young person  who is frail, ill or disabled the first aid skills needed to look after someone.  All of their training is delivered by dedicated and experienced trainers; leaving those trained with confidence to do the right thing FIRST AID FOR UNPAID CARERS

The Department of Health think that they need a new strategy for carers setting out how they can do more.  One which reflects their lives now, the health and financial concerns they have, and gives them the support they need to live well whilst caring for a family member or friend. Wellness in Mind

Wellness in Mind – A new service has started in Nottingham to help ensure that people with Mental Health issues can access support more quickly and more easily. Based on Clarendon St next to the Quaker meeting hall it is open fo people to drop in Monday to Friday 9.00 – 5.00. You can also Wellness in Mind

Care4me is a scheme that provides a range of services with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of carers and those for whom they care. This scheme is coordinated by Gedling Homes in partnership with Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group, the Carers Federation and other partners. Researchers at De Montfort University are looking at how to support people with heart failure and their family caregivers better.  In particular they want to try offering ‘mindfulness’ sessions to give people new Do you care for a family member with heart failure?
