There are around seven million carers in the UK – that is one in ten people. Three in five people will be carers at some point in their lives. An unpaid carer looks after a friend or family member who needs support due to their illness, condition, disability, learning difficulties, metal health or substance misuse. South Nottinghamshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups have funded Carers Federation to support their medical practices and local schools to develop their knowledge and understanding of young and adult carers.
Our Action for Young Carers service helps young people aged 5-18 to deal with the emotional, practical and physical pressures which come with life as a young carer. We are looking to recruit a confident, conscientious and enthusiastic individual with previous experience of working with children to join our team in Nottingham.
