Our Volunteer Roles
The Young Carers Transitions Project offers life skills courses and one to one mentoring for young carers aged between 15 and 19 across Nottingham City, Broxtowe, Gedling, and Rushcliffe. We are looking for volunteers to support the delivery of group life skills sessions and to provide one to one mentoring support to young carers as they transition into adulthood.
The Integrated Pioneer Project aims to improve the experiences of children and young people accessing health treatment and services across the City. Volunteer Mentors will provide mentoring support to build skills and confidence with children of all ages to help to evidence their experiences and find meaningful ways to ensure that the views of children and young people are fed back to health care services and professionals.
Volunteers have also provided admin support, developed Newsletters, participated in one off promotional events and carers events.
Our Recruitment Process
Volunteers need to be over 18 years of age. Once we receive your completed application form, we will contact you to arrange an interview.
Volunteers are then invited to attend our initial 2 day training programme. Our initial training programme will include understanding the mentoring process and mentoring skills, professional boundaries, personal safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding children as well as role specific training.
We will also ask for two references and most volunteers will be required to have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring) check (which has replaced the old CRB)
