The Long Eaton School Achieves Quality Standard in Carer Support Accreditation

The Long Eaton School has been awarded the Carers Federation Quality Standard in Carer Support for Schools, recognising its work to identify and support pupils with caring responsibilities.

The accreditation reflects a thoughtful and structured approach to ensuring young carers are visible within the school community. This includes appointing a designated lead, developing clear referral processes, and providing staff with the knowledge and confidence to recognise when a pupil may need additional support.

The school has placed a strong emphasis on creating a culture where pupils feel safe to talk about their responsibilities at home and where support can be tailored to individual needs. This has helped to reduce barriers to learning and improve wellbeing for young carers.

Achieving the Quality Standard highlights The Long Eaton School’s commitment to inclusion and to ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances outside of school.
