Ladywood Primary School Achieves Quality Standard in Carer Support for Schools Accreditation

Ladywood Primary School has been awarded the Carers Federation Quality Standard in Carer Support for Schools, recognising its outstanding commitment to young carers.

The school appointed a dedicated Young Carers Champion, introduced clear identification and referral processes, and delivered staff training to ensure awareness of young carers’ needs. Partnerships with external support organisations further strengthen the support offered.

Evidence submitted for accreditation showed how young carer support is embedded within safeguarding, pastoral care, and everyday school practices. This ensures that pupils with caring responsibilities feel recognised, valued, and supported.

The award highlights Ladywood Primary School’s dedication to inclusive education and its ongoing work to create a supportive environment where young carers can thrive.
