An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Operations Manager to join Carers Federation and lead in the delivery and development of key Carers Federation strategies.

This is a newly created role, reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the New Business & Partnership Development Manager, the post-holder will focus on:

  • Delivering existing key strategies developed within core areas of the business
  • Supporting income generation through delivery of newly developed business initiatives
  • Working closely with the CEO to achieve the strategic aims of the organisation

Salary: Band 3a £36,230, rising to £38,549 after probation, with potential progression to £40,869

An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Operations Manager to join Carers Federation and lead in the delivery and development of key Carers Federation strategies.

The North-East Operations Manager will lead the delivery of existing Carer Support and Advocacy services and drive the development of new opportunities for Carers Federation in the Northeast.
Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the Carers Lead and Business Development Manager, the post-holder will:

• Oversee key contracts across Gateshead and the Northeast, ensuring effective service delivery and contract retention.
• Work closely with the CEO and SMT to achieve organisational strategic objectives ensuring fully compliant against relevant legislation (H&S/GDPR/HR).
• Ensure high standards of contract and performance management, working collaboratively with teams to deliver work plans aligned with strategy.
• Support income generation through identification of new business initiatives and funding.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and ensure compliance across multiple projects for effective service delivery.
• Allocate and prioritise tasks to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage data reporting and project monitoring.
• Drive the development and growth of new services.
• Retain core contracts and maximise income through efficient contract management.
• Undertake administrative and development tasks to support timely service delivery
• Be instrumental in the retention of CHAS and QPM accreditation
• Contribute to bid and tender development.

Essential Experience
• Contract management with local authorities.
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Team management and handling HR matters (e.g., TUPE, grievances, performance).
• Project management, including impact measurement and reporting.
• Experience in tendering and budget management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative working in multi-professional settings, including statutory and voluntary sectors.
• Strong interpersonal skills to motivate teams and advise senior management.
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workload independently.
• Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to initiate and develop projects from limited information.
• Flexible, supportive team player.
