The Step Into Advocacy course is ideal for individuals who are just starting out as an advocate or have an interest in advocacy. It is also perfect for those who use advocacy as part of their wider role such as support workers, social workers, and health & social care professionals. This is a great alternative to the City & Guilds Level 2 Independent Advocacy which ended in 2024.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the Principles of independent advocacy
- Understand the role of the independent advocate
- Understand different models of independent advocacy
- Understand Equality & diversity within Independent Advocacy
The session will be held via TEAMS and will take between 2-3 hours. It will be led by a qualified Independent Advocacy assessor/ trainer
At the end of the course there is a workbook to complete based on the course content. You will have 28 days to complete this. On completion of the assignment, you will be awarded a certificate.
