NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) across Nottinghamshire South have been working in partnership with Carers Federation for the past 5 years to embed the carers agenda into primary care and to recognise carers as an advocate for the patient.
The Nottinghamshire CCGs are also proactive in supporting Carers Federation to work within all schools inside their boundaries. This engagement work has facilitated the identification of more young carers, embedded awareness of the education, social and health needs of young carers and provided access to support for young carers.
