The Role

We are seeking an Assessor to support with the delivery of our Independent Advocacy Qualifications training programmes across England.

Over the last ten years, Carers Federation has developed an excellent reputation in supporting independent advocates to be qualified as IMCAs, IMHAs, Care Act advocates, and generic advocates. Carers Federation has been heavily involved in the roll-out of the new Level 4 Independent Advocacy Award, supporting services in their goal of providing universal independent advocacy.

You will use your existing and comprehensive skills as an independent advocate to support candidates to complete their specialist qualifications. From support in training and delivering workshops, to managing a wide range of stakeholders and assessing your own candidates you will ensure the highest level of excellence is met.

You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly self-motivated, and set a high standard for yourself and others. You will need to be prepared to plan your own schedules to meet deadlines and travel extensively in support of your candidates, meaning regular overnight stays away from home. You will need to be comfortable delivering support remotely via phone/videocall to account for ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. We’re seeking someone creative, ambitious, charismatic and determined, and who ultimately believes in the value of independent advocacy.

This is a permanent role for 30 hours per week, requiring flexibility to meet the demands of the position.
