Opportunities have arisen for Advocates within the North East NHS Independent Complaints Advocacy service in North/South Tyneside, Durham and Darlington to support members of the public through the NHS Complaints process.
Based at our Gateshead office initially for training then home based with the ability to travel, this is a high quality and dynamic service that empowers patients, carers and service users to identify and act upon the service options or choices available to them.
You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and first-class listening skills. You will be computer literate and able to research, collate and convey relevant information. Experience of advocacy and voluntary services would be helpful, as would experience in a support, care, or service environment.
You must have or be willing to work towards the Certificate in Independent Advocacy qualification. Holders of the qualification will be offered a higher salary.
