Our Action for Young Carers service helps young people aged 5-18 to deal with the emotional, practical and physical pressures which come with life as a young carer. We are looking to recruit a confident, conscientious and enthusiastic individual with previous experience of working with children to join our team in Nottingham.

Salary: £17,687 (pro rata) per annum with an increase to £19,768 (pro rata) after a successful 6 month probation period

Carers Federation Ltd is a national charity and Company Limited by Guarantee established in 1992 to empower carers, the people for whom they care and the wider community. The charity is managed by a Board of Trustees elected by our membership.

Our Action for Young Carers service helps young people aged 5-18 to deal with the emotional, practical and physical pressures which come with life as a young carer. We are looking to recruit a confident, conscientious and enthusiastic individual with previous experience of working with children to join our team in Nottingham.

As part of a small team of Support Workers you will work closely with Young Carers and their families across Nottingham City. You will be required to:

Complete full comprehensive Young Carer and family assessments to meet the identified needs of the individual and or family.

  • Contribute and work as part of multi agency system linking in with both internal and external services.
  • Provide a variety of information on local services, specific conditions and general information
  • Facilitate and deliver group activities during school holidays and at least two evenings per month during term time and two Saturdays per month.
  • Need to work within Nottingham City Safeguarding Board policies and procedures and those of Carers Federation Ltd.

The successful candidate will also need to undergo any relevant training to fulfill the role;

It is essential that you are a driver and car user as the role entails travel throughout Nottingham City and you will need to transport Young Carers to and from various activities.
