News: New safety and security messages for older people

As part of its Home Office-funded campaign to spread safety and security messages to older people, Age Concern and Help the Aged has produced a leaflet entitled Your Security. The leaflet contains useful information about bogus callers, securing your house, protecting belongings and personal safety.

Age Concern and Help the Aged hopes that you will be able to pass on this information to older people you care for. Further copies of Your Security can be ordered by calling our FREE information line, 0800 00 99 66, or by emailing orders@acil.org.uk.

We offer a range of services, many of them free, designed to help people in later life remain independent and feel safe in their own homes. We provide practical information and advice to older people and their families, including factsheets on a range of issues affecting older people in the UK.

Age Concern and Help the Aged have joined together to form Age UK, a single charity dedicated to improving the lives of older people. All the information produced by the Help the Aged and Age Concern is available on the websites www.helptheaged.org.uk and www.ageconcern.org.uk
