Alternative Styles

To help you see the website better, we have built three different styles. They are as follows:

  1. Regular (switch to the regular style.)
The regular style is the one that most people will use, it uses lots of colour and pictures and a 14pt font.
  2. Dyslexia (switch to the dyslexia style.)
If you are dyslexic you might find the colour scheme and layout a little more user friendly. The background colour is off white, and the fonts a little larger.
  3. High Visibility (switch to the high visibility style.)
The high visibility style uses much larger text and colours that contrast a great deal more than the other two styles. This style is good for those who are hard of sight.

Tips

At the top of every page we have put an invisible link that is only seen by screen readers. This means that the reader can skip the links and go straight onto the content.

Changing the text size

We have done our best to make the text easy to read, but if you are having trouble reading any part of the website, you can make the text size bigger. The way to do this varies from browser to browser, but usually if you hold down the "Ctrl" button (in windows) then press either the + or - keys you should be able to scale it up and down. If you are having trouble with your browser we recommend reading the help files.

Screen readers

There are programs called screen readers (opens a new window) available that will read the website out to you. There is a list of currently available screen readers (opens a new window) at Wikipedia.
